Local cable services are preparing to wish subscribers a happy new year with additional channels, and in some cases, additional charges.
Time Warner will add five channels to its Albany and Troy/Battenkill systems and even more channels will debut on the upgraded Saratoga system. The new channels arrive Monday (except Animal Planet, which moves in Jan. 1 to take the spot of C-SPAN, which replaces the departing WWOR); rates go up effective with subscribers' January bill.
