Jan. 6--Former Today show host Katie Couric was a real pistol yesterday when she surprised her old pals with a visit to help mark Matt Lauer's 10th anniversary on the NBC news and fun show. Now a bigshot at CBS Evening News, Couric joke-gifted Lauer. Reminding him that the first anniversary is paper and the fifth is wood, Katie said "the 10th is metal or tin... so I made this for you."
