William Safire's latest column on gambling (Nov. 21) indicates that the anti-gambling lobby could use some remedial work on addition and subtraction.
Safire opines that aside from pro-casino victories in Michigan and Arizona, other Election Day referenda on gambling ``took a licking from people who have grown tired of being taken for suckers.''
