Jan. 6--IOWA FALLS -- An Iowa Falls couple has been sentenced to prison for allegedly cooking methamphetamine near an elementary school.
U.S. District Court Judge Linda Reade sentenced Michael Counsell, 33, to 25 years and six months in a federal prison after he pleaded guilty to conspiracy to manufacture meth within 1,000 feet of a school.
His wife, Angela Counsell, 32, was sentenced to 10 years and eight months in prison. The sentences were enhanced because Reade found the crime created substantial risk of harm to children in their house and children in the neighborhood. They lived near Pineview Elementary School....
