NEW YORK -- Expectations are high for the analgesics category based on major launches from two manufacturing powerhouses as well as the continuing appeal of established brands and private label products.
The category promises to be so strong that some drug chains are expanding their departments to accommodate the introductions--from Procter-Syntex Health Products Co. and Johnson & Johnson's (J&J's) McNeil Consumer Products Co.--without having to discard any products.
