NEW YORK -- Gazi Ibrahim Abu Mezer doggedly tried to sneak into the United States in what his Palestinian family says was an innocent pursuit of the American dream.
But after being ordered to leave the country by Aug. 23, Abu Mezer allegedly devised a nightmare of death and destruction on a New York City subway. On Saturday, investigators worked to piece together evidence from the plot, including a possible suicide note, while a Mideast terror group denied any involvement.
