EAGLE, Colo. -- An Air Force search team found human remains Friday believed to be the missing pilot of an A-10 attack jet that disappeared during a routine training mission three weeks ago in Arizona and flew 800 miles before crashing in the snowy mountains here.
The location and disposition of the four 500-pound Mk-82 bombs aboard the plane remain unknown.
Air Force officials Friday concluded that Capt. Craig Button, 32, went down with his plane, crashing on a steep slope 12,500 feet up Gold Dust Peak southwest of Vail.
