SINCE the 1980s, Sharwood's has continued to develop and consistently support the ethnic market, which is now valued at 75m [pounds], and growing at 14% year on year.
The market is defined by Sharwood's in terms of the two cuisines which dominate it -- Indian and Chinese -- and is best divided into meal makers and accompaniments purchased for home cooking.
The company does not include ready meals or Indian or Chinese flavoured foods which have been launched on the back of the main meal making market.
Sharwood's says it is top in both, with shares of 62% for Indian and 49% for Chinese.
