DEAR HELOISE: Since I'm a person who is always trying to salvage things, each time I removed dryer sheets from the dryer I thought they still smelled too nice to throw away. So, I found that by slipping one into my clean pillowcases each week the pillows smell fresh all week long. -- Betty Rutter, Scottdale, Pa. DEAR BETTY Fresh-smelling pillows every night -- ummm. Remember before doing this in a guest room that visitors may be sensitive to certain smells. DEAR HELOISE: I have found several ways to get added use from torn vinyl tablecloths:
place mats
appliance covers
mats under pets' feeding bowls or litter box
