DELMAR -- Charles R. Tashjian Sr., 72, died Tuesday at Albany Medical Center Hospital Albany, after a brief illness. Born in Brighton, MA, he was son of the late Richard and Gadar Radoian Tashjian and husband of Mary Bakarian Tashjian. He had resided in the Brighton, Massachusetts area until 1946 when he moved to the Troy and Albany areas. Mr. Tashjian owned and operated B&D Dry Cleaners in Albany for 42 years, retiring 5 years ago. He was a member of the Knights of Vartan, the Destroyer-Escort Historical Foundation and St. Peter Armenian Apostolic Church in Watervliet and was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Navy SeaBees.
