Jan. 7--An air of optimism filled a church in East Palo Alto Saturday afternoon as family members, residents and colleagues gathered to pay tribute to police officer Rich May, who was slain in the line of duty last year. "It was one year ago today that I last saw and spoke to my husband," Diana May told the crowd gathered to pay tribute to the veteran officer. "My life will never be the same."
