Jan 07, 2007 (The Australian Financial Review - ABIX via COMTEX) -- The Australian initial public offerings (IPO) market is expected to remain strong in 2007. A record number of sharemarket floats occurred in 2006. However, there were less large floats and many IPOs were of lower quality. This is expected to cause scrutiny of the valuation of new offerings in 2007. A number of large floats are planned, but the trend of fewer large listings is expected to continue. The infrastructure and utilities sector and the mining services sector are expected to provide more IPO activity. The liquidity of the market is expected to remain strong.
