Ritter Communications said it was spending $8 million to improve its cable television and Internet services in northeast Arkansas.

The project started in late summer and is expected to be completed in July, said Susan Christian, director of marketing for Ritter Communications of Marked Tree.

She said customers would notice improved reliability and a faster Internet.

"It's a complete overhaul of our system; some areas are being rebuilt, and some areas are being upgraded," she said.

Some customers will pay more for the improvements. Basic cable will remain $17.95 per month, while expanded basic cable will increase by $4 to $43.95. ...
