Jan. 8--The Westward Look Resort in northwest Tucson, has been sold for $31 million to San Diego-based American Property Management Corp.
The purchase of the 244-room resort, at 245 E. Ina Road, was a good move considering Tucson's healthy $2.5 billion tourism industry and the region's high, hotel occupancy rates which hover around 70 percent, company officials said. Westward's former owners, Gemstone Resorts International LLC, a Park City, Utah-based hospitality company, declined to comment on the sale.
