ALBANY -- As sunset was nearing Friday, Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver was venting.
Rushing down the Thruway to make it to his Sullivan County weekend home in time for the start of the Jewish Sabbath, Silver was leaving behind months of bitter feuding with his chief nemesis, Gov. George Pataki. With a few notable exceptions, Silver and Pataki have kept their dislike for one another behind closed doors while they pounded away at a budget agreement.
