Drawing on the momentum of the recent gay-pride parade and Gay Games in New York, this year's Lesbian and Gay Pride Celebration bears the theme ``Stonewall 25: A Global Celebration.''
The event is set for Saturday and Sunday at the University of California, Irvine. Organizers hope to attract 15,000 festival-goers.
``I think this yearm being the 25th anniversary (of Stonewall), more people will come out because it is an important year to show their support,'' festival spokeswoman Kimberly Syre said.
``I'm thinking that people who couldn't afford to go to New York might want to be at this festival to enjoy the spirit of Stonewall.''
