Drivers accustomed to using Lincoln Avenue as a shortcut to Central Avenue during rush hour need to find another route.
Lincoln Avenue in the village of Colonie is now closed to all northbound traffic between 4 and 6 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Drivers heading north on Lincoln Avenue from Washington Avenue must bypass the lower half of the street, turning left onto Petra Lane to eventually reach Central Avenue via Walker Way and Jupiter Lane.
