The new record may not be setting the charts on fire.
And the current U.S. tour may not be an instant sell-out in each city.
But guitarist extraordinaire Eddie Van Halen remains upbeat and undaunted.
It's been nearly two years since the departure of Sammy Hagar, the brief return of David Lee Roth and the eventual hiring of former Extreme vocalist Gary Cherone as the band's new singer. And despite the laudable hard-rock music the group has created since its 1978 debut, Van Halen says the best time for the band is -- to borrow from its 1991 hit -- right now.
