Jan. 9--FREDERICK -- Frederick's diverse business community may sow its customer base on home soil, but nearby jurisdictions and other states often prove fertile ground for growing company profits.
Depending on the business, Frederick is the best source for clients; in other cases, entrepreneurs cannot pass up potential dollars from larger firms outside the county's borders.
"We go where the work is. We move to markets where there is construction activity," said Michael Mock, vice president of business development, for Morgan-Keller Inc., a general contractor in Frederick.
