Jan. 9--SHELBY -- Gardner Webb University gave Cleveland County another tool to help attract new companies and expand existing businesses such as Telerx. Cleveland Community College will also chip in by providing training courses for new employees.
President Frank Bonner announced Monday the university will offer free tuition credits for new jobs created through future recruitment or expansion.
"We've been thinking for some time now about what we can do for economic development," said Bonner. "And we have higher education to offer."
The school plans to offer 120 hours of tuition credit per 50 jobs created with a cap ...
