SARATOGA SPRINGS -- The Saratoga Friends of Musical Arts celebrated two anniversaries on Friday in Janet Kinghorn Bernhard Theater of Skidmore College.
With performances of English baroque composer Henry Purcell's Funeral Music for Queen Mary and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's Requiem in D Minor, K. 626, a work Mozart left incomplete when he died in Vienna in 1791, the concert honored two birthdays at once.
The 28-voice Schola Cantorum, a chamber chorus with professional standards founded by its music director Benjamin Van Wye at Bethesda, Md., Episcopal Church in 1971, celebrated its 25th year.
