Andy Schoonover stays away from fad diets. But when Schoonover, an avid sports fan, came across a magazine story detailing golfing great Jack Nicklaus' success losing weight with a cabbage soup diet, the Albany accountant decided to give it a try.
His reason, he admits, was vanity. He had put in a new swimming pool and wanted to shed the dozen or so pounds he had accumulated over the winter.
