Every 25 years or so, a different filmmaker discovers ``Jane Eyre,'' Charlotte Bronte's beautifully written novel about the relationship between a plain young governess and the mysterious, brooding man who becomes her employer.
Director Franco Zeffirelli is the latest to tackle this complex story, in a film that opens today in the Capital Region. Earlier versions included Orson Welles' 1944 production, and a 1971 made-for-television movie starring George C. Scott and Susannah York.
