Because nothing is impossible, the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel could conceivably be used in field trials to flush out game.
But it's unlikely these gentle little dogs will be used for anything other than making great pets . . . at least that's the way Beth Sweigart sees it.
Popular for years in England, on Jan. 1 the breed became the 140th to be recognized by the American Kennel Club, and made its official debut in the Capital Region last weekend when the Saratoga Kennel Club and the Glens Falls Kennel Club held their respective shows in the Saratoga Springs City Center.
