MAKING FRESH PASTA and sauce isn't the most daunting venture in the kitchen. But it is when you're Victoria Cannizzo. And you married into an Italian family. And they take cooking seriously. So seriously that the in-laws once brought their own ravioli and sauce to Christmas.
Barry Pollara, born of Sicilian immigrants, understood Cannizzo's angst and volunteered to open his home for an evening for a one-on-one cooking class on homemade pasta. Cannizzo loves cooking and couldn't wait; she walked in with her own apron. Making pasta is one of the few skills that's escaped her.
