This has been a record-breaking year for wind power. Power companies in the United States have built thousands of new wind turbines. Those are windmills that produce electricity as they spin. By the end of the year, power companies will have built enough wind turbines to power Rhode Island! With this year's additions, wind power will create enough electricity to light more than 2.5 million homes in the United States, according to the American Wind Energy Association.
