Thanks to a Bar e-mail to its members, several hundred additional lawyers have volunteered for Chief Justice Fred Lewis' Justice Teaching initiative, bringing the total number who have offered their services to more than 1,500.
Communications Committee Chair Tim Sullivan reported that number last month to the Bar Board of Governors. He also said that 100 percent of his committee and 100 percent of the Bar's Executive Committee had volunteered for the program.
The initiative, a top priority for Chief Justice Lewis, seeks to place a lawyer or judge in every school in Florida to teach students about the third branch of government and the importance of the legal system in ...
