Jan. 10--Mida Assets Plc, a listed hire-purchase operator, has spent 911 million baht to acquire five luxury hotels in resort towns.
Suthasinee Setaphan had agreed to sell some of her stakes in the five hotels -- Samui Peninsula in Surat Thani, Phuket Peninsula in Phuket, Hot Spring in Chiang Mai, The Retreat Hua Hin in Prachuap Khiri Khan, and Top Elements in Kanchanaburi, according to Mida Assets' report to the Stock Exchange of Thailand. Roongrawee Iampongpaitoon, Mida Assets' deputy managing director, said the investments would help the company diversify income.
