DEARBORN, Mich., Aug. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Ford Motor Credit Company will quietly mark its 35th birthday this week. 
A wholly owned Ford Motor Company (NYSE: F) subsidiary and part of Ford's Financial Services Group, Ford Credit was incorporated on Aug. 20, 1959.  It was founded to provide financial services to dealers and their customers. 
Ford Credit started with a small group of people working out of Ford's World Headquarters in Dearborn.  The company opened its first branch on Dec. 16, 1959, in Indianapolis, Ind.
