Sandra Stanton is an optimist. When a local high school boy was killed in an automobile accident just before Christmas of 1993, the entire village of Hoosick Falls, N.Y., grieved, as did Stanton. But she also knew there must be a way to pay tribute to the boy and, at the same time, begin the healing process for all the residents of this small town.
As owners of Fan-tastic Gifts, a gift/ fudge shop just across the state line in Bennington, Vt., Sandra and Charles Stanton donated time, materials, energy and talents to establish the Jeffrey Stratton Memorial Scholarship Fund in memory of the young man.
