Bestselling French author Michel Houellebecq's helming debut, "Possibility of an Island," will begin lensing in April with Benoit Magimel in the lead, producer Eric Altmayer said Tuesday.
Altmayer and his A brother Nicolas will exec produce, with their company Mandarin the majority producer and Belgium's AT Prods., Spain's Morena and Germany's Black Forest co-producing.
The 6 million [euro] ($8 million) pic, a futuristic tale about a man and his clone, will shoot for eight weeks in Belgium; Valencia, Spain; and Lanzarote in the Canary Islands, Altmayer said.
