A cheese containing DSM Food Specialties LAFTI[R] probiotics and starter cultures has won the coveted 'Best cheese with a health benefit' award at this year's Nantwich Cheese Show. The Cheese Company's mature white cheddar variety containing DSM's complex DELVO-TEC starter cultures and the probiotic Lactobacillus easel LAFTI[R] L26 was awarded the gold prize, beating 28 other entries from across Europe.
The award highlights how cheeses that provide health benefits can also offer superior flavour characteristics, delivering advantages to both manufacturers and consumers.
