DEAR HELOISE: As we are fond of stew, I make it quite often. I save time, money and energy by my method.

I place leftovers in an airtight plastic bowl in the freezer. Each day, I add any leftover foods such as peas, corn or carrots to the freezer bowl.

When the freezer bowl gets full, I brown hamburger meat, add tomatoes, onions and peppers, then add the frozen, precooked foods and heat thoroughly.
