Introduction
Silicon device technology has become an attractive, low cost solution to many high frequency personal communications products.(1) Many of the earlier frequency limitations of this technology have been overcome and as improvements continue, silicon devices will be used in more RF and microwave applications. Typical applications include low noise amplifiers (LNA), mixers, RF switches, power amplifiers and voltage-controlled oscillators (VCO).
