Jan. 11--SHELBY -- While 10-year-old Anthony Davis lies in a Charlotte hospital recovering from 96 dog bite wounds, his mother, Gina Strausser, pushes for Cleveland County to implement a leash law.
A black and white mixed breed, an American bulldog and a pit bull mauled her son while he visited a friend Sunday afternoon on Mountain Side Drive just outside the Kings Mountain city limits.
"It doesn't make sense what my boy has to go through," said Ms. Strausser. "There should be a leash law. I take care of my dog. My dog isn't allowed out of my house without a leash."
