BAY HARBOR, Mich. Despite the rumors, Madonna does not have a place here. But lots of other people do own new homes in Bay Harbor, a glistening, nouveau Victorian settlement on Lake Michigan's shore just west of Petoskey.
People who don't mind paying $240 for a round of golf. Or who need a place to bunk a string of polo ponies.
That's the way it has been at Bay Harbor for the last five years during the development of 25 gated communities with homes from condos to castles that range in price from $200,000 (an early condo price) to $7 million.
