The Saratoga Springs City Center would nearly double in size under a proposal aimed at securing the convention center's future in attracting meetings and tourists to the city.

Plans to add 15,000 square feet in meeting rooms to the existing 20,000-square-foot hall are expected to go to the City Council in August. That's when a blue-ribbon panel named by Mayor J. Michael O'Connell to draft a proposal for the convention center is supposed to complete its work.
