Well, it's finally official. Averill Park will join the Suburban Council for the 2000-01 school year.
The Suburban principals voted unanimously to accept the Rensselaer County school. Previously, the Suburban athletic directors also voted unanimously to admit Averill Park.
``By waiting until the 2000-2001 school year we gave both Averill Park and the Suburban Council time for planning for all programs,'' said Bethlehem principal John Hunter, the Suburban principals' president. ``We feel that a year in transition will help them and help us, too.''
