TROY --Thomas Joseph Witkowski, died October 8, 2000 at St. Mary's Hospital, after a long illness. Born in Troy, he was the son of the late Joseph A. and Sophi (Janiszewski) Witkowski. He served with the Marines 6th Division in the Pacific during World War II. Mr. Witkowski was formerly a self-employed milk dealer and was employed with the New York State Assembly until retiring in 1991. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus as a 4th degree knight, a member of the Troy Elks, Rensselaer County Board of Elections and a former Rensselaer County Legislator for 12 years.
