WASHINGTON -- Gourmets, beware! Angel hair pasta with cheese grated over basil marinara sauce will never be the same if the federal government has its way.
The Food and Drug Administration is considering new rules that either would ban or drastically limit the manufacture and import of raw milk, or unpasteurized, cheeses.
The FDA has commissioned scientific studies out of concern that the cheeses may pose a health risk by carrying potentially deadly bacteria such as E. coli, listeria and salmonella.
