ALBANY -- Drive 65 is here to stay in New York, at least for five more years.
Gov. George Pataki signed a bill into law Wednesday extending the 65 mph speed limit on 1,100 miles of limited-access highways in the state for five years, until Dec. 1, 2005.
Pataki and the state Legislature initially raised the state's speed limit from 55 mph to 65 mph in 1995 for five years ending Dec. 1, 2000. The new law ...
