AVERILL PARK -- The Averill Park Warriors are hoping that three's a charm.
The school's boys' basketball team is heading into its third year as a Class A team in the Section II tournament. The first year, the Warriors lost to Colonie 53-47 in the first round. Last year, Averill Park got by Shenendehowa 75-54 in the first round but lost to Colonie 68-62 in the second. It was 48-all heading into the final quarter.
The Section II seedings come out today and Averill Park, 18-1 after topping Cohoes High 64-42 here Tuesday night, should get a high seed despite the fact that it's a squad that's on the outside ...
