NEW ORLEANS _ Any Chicago Bears who dared to look ahead Saturday night to a possible NFC championship game at Soldier Field knew that the offense of the New Orleans Saints or the Philadelphia Eagles would pose at least as big a challenge as the Seattle Seahawks.
Privately and quietly, the Bears preferred the Saints, but they better be careful what they wish for after the Saints and their No. 1 offense extended their remarkable season with a 27-24 win in a game that polished the NFC's tarnished image.
It's not because the Saints are the better story that the Bears wanted them. It's because the Eagles might be the better team, ...
