Albany An Albany lobbying firm under investigation for an alleged kickback scheme lost a court battle Wednesday to block the state's inquiry.
State Supreme Court Justice Joseph Teresi ruled that the state's Temporary Commission on Lobbying can continue with its investigation of the firm, Coppola, Ryan McHugh.
The firm allegedly gave $25,000 in kickbacks to Susan Peerless when she ran the not-for-profit Empire State Association of Adult Homes and Assisted Living Facilities, which hired the Coppola firm for $150,000 a year.
