This collection of seventeen essays on Christine de Pizan is the second major international tribute to be paid to an outstanding scholar who perhaps more than anyone else this century has helped to rehabilitate France's first professional woman author (in 1988, a special number of the Revue des langues romanes, 92:2, edited by Liliane Dulac and Jean Dufournet, was also dedicated to the present honorand, Charity Cannon Willard).
