MIDDLETOWN, Ohio, Aug. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- AK Steel (Nasdaq-NNM: AKST) today announced it has signed an agreement settling U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) claims arising from an investigation of an April 20, 1994 fatal accident. 
AK Steel agreed to settle the citations for certain alleged technical violations raised by OSHA during the investigation but not related to the proximate cause of the accident in the coke by-products area.  The settlement agreement signed by OSHA incorporates AK Steel's belief that no finding made during the investigation suggests that any AK Steel safety practice was a cause of the accident.
