INDIANAPOLIS -- The appeal of Team Green driver Paul Tracy's runner-up finish in the Indianapolis 500 will be heard by Indy Racing League president Tony George on June 17.
George, who could have appointed a panel to review the disputed finish, instead will hear the evidence and make the sole decision whether Tracy or Helio Castroneves won the May 26 race.
``His point of view is that given the importance of this matter, he intends to retain this responsibility,'' IRL spokesman Fred Nation said Friday.
The dispute centers on Tracy's pass of Castroneves for the lead on the next-to-last lap.
