WASHINGTON _ Just when it seemed impossible for the Case of the Greedy Spy to make the Central Intelligence Agency look more laughably inept, the agency does another pratfall.
The spook bureau at Langley, Va., is behaving as wackily as the cast of ``One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest.'' How did we win the Cold War _ dumb luck?
Galling enough that a boozy, cash-hungry CIA footpad named Aldrich Ames could pickpocket the agency's top secrets and peddle them to the Soviet Union for almost 10 years.
I mean, here's a middle-level bureaucrat paying cash for a $450,000 house and driving a Jaguar to work _ yet his Ivy League-bred superiors don't ask, ``Hey, where's this guy ...
