Jan 15, 2007 (The Australian Financial Review - ABIX via COMTEX) -- A record price has been paid for a Canberra office building. German pension fund, Real IS, paid $A234 million for the Geoscience complex. It is the headquarters of the Australian Geological Survey Organisation. The long-term lease, with 14 years to run, was an attraction. The fund also bought office towers in Melbourne and Adelaide in 2006. Other German pension funds are also returning to the Australian market after many sold some of their Australian holdings.
