Three years ago, Destiny's Child sang an ode to ``Independent Women,'' crooning: ``Tell me what you think about me -- I buy my own diamonds and I buy my own rings.''
Beyonce & Co. was hardly breaking feminist ground, but they may have been fashion forecasters.
Now, the hottest jewelry trend is the right-hand diamond ring: It's a style statement, of course, but retailers say the glittering accessory also declares that a modern gal doesn't need a guy to bring the bling.
